Auto-Owners Moves Up in Fortune 500 Listing

Auto-Owners Insurance Company, a multi-line property and casualty and life insurer, moved up 23 places to No. 375 on the annual Fortune 500 list of America’s largest corporations. The ranking makes Auto-Owners the 15th largest Michigan-based business on the Fortune 500 list.

This is the 16th straight year Auto-Owners has appeared in the Fortune 500 list, and this is its highest ranking ever. The company had $7.604 billion in revenue for 2017.

Auto-Owners has earned some of the industry’s highest rankings for its exceptional financial strength and stability. Auto-Owners’ property and casualty companies are one of only nine groups to be rated A++ by A.M. Best, a nationally recognized rating agency for insurance companies.

Auto-Owners employs nearly 5,000 associates and writes more than 5.2 million property and casualty and life policies annually in 26 states, exclusively through local independent agents. Auto-Owners was founded in 1916 and is headquartered in Lansing, Michigan.
