Lansing to be in National Spotlight

C-SPAN reveals Lansing history and highlights authors during weeklong visit

The Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce and Comcast will welcome C-SPAN to Lansing on Monday, June 24 at 9 a.m. at the historic Lansing Board of Water and Light Grand Trunk Train Depot as they kick off a visit to record the history and non-fiction literary life of the city on the cable network’s non-fiction book channel Book TV (on C-SPAN2) and history channel American History TV (on C-SPAN3).

In conjunction with its cable partner, Comcast, C-SPAN producers will visit various literary and historic sites, interview local historians, non-fiction authors and conduct educational and community outreach in Lansing June 20th – 25th.

During Monday's business roundtable, C-SPAN producers will reveal the stories and segments that will be explored by the national network.

Local segments recorded throughout the week will air on Book TV (on C-SPAN2, Comcast channel 104) and American History TV (on C-SPAN3, Comcast channel 105) throughout C-SPAN's special Lansing weekend, September 21-22.

The C-SPAN Cities Tour – Exploring the American Story. C-SPAN’s 2019 Cities Tour takes Book TV and American History TV on the road. Book TV (on C-SPAN2) and American History TV (on C-SPAN3) are featuring the literary life and history of each of these selected cities the first and third weekends of each month on the public affairs network.

The programs C-SPAN produce in the city will air throughout a special Lansing weekend September 21-22--literary programming on Book TV (on C-SPAN2, Comcast channel 104) and history programming on American History TV (on C-SPAN3, Comcast channel 105). C-SPAN is available in Lansing on Comcast channels 25 and HD 1125, 989.
