(Lansing, MI) – The Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce (LRCC) is proud to recognize and support the Greater Lansing small business community during the National Small Business Week (NSBW), which runs from June 17 – 21. Celebrating 60 years, the NSBW recognizes the critical contributions of America’s entrepreneurs and small business owners."The Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce has over 1,100 members, of which more than 80% have 15 employees or less. As a Chamber of Commerce, we reflect the makeup of the overall business community,” said Tim Daman, President and CEO of the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce. "The small business community creates every two out of three jobs in the U.S. and more than half of all Americans either own or work for a small business. Those numbers can’t be ignored.”The LRCC supports the small business community in a variety of ways including educational and training opportunities, networking events and providing ways for your business to save time and money.Business Education Series – The Business Education Series was born out of the needs of the small business community and is designed to provide affordable and accessible education and training programs. Since launching this year, our BES programs have covered ways to implement a successful internship program and how to maximize the QuickBooks accounting program. Our August 13 BES program will focus on Email Marketing, SEO and the New Media Landscape.Healthcare Series – Almost all small businesses are unsure of what to expect for the 2014 implementation of the Affordable Care Act. The Chamber has launched a series of programming dedicated to supporting small businesses as they make this transition. Chamber support comes in the form of educational events, printed materials, and an interactive website called MIHealthAnswers.
Member Benefit Programs – The Chamber offers it members a variety of Member Benefit Programs that are designed to save you time and money. These programs include insurance, IT services, marketing and much more! More information can be found on each program by visiting the Membership tab of the Lansing Regional Chamber website.Networking – The Chamber is proud to offer numerous networking opportunities throughout the year. This includes more intimate roundtable settings with only 15-30 people to our Annual Dinner where you rub elbows with 800 or more of the region’s business and community leaders. No matter the size of your business, connections are made and strengthened at LRCC events. "It is our duty to support the small business community because every day they’re working to  create 21st century jobs, drive innovation, and increase America’s global competitiveness,” said Daman.
