Hobbs+Black Vice President elected 2014 President of the American Institute of Architects Huron Valley

January 8 2014

(Ann Arbor) - Wayne Chubb, AIA, has been elected as the 2014 President of the American Institute of Architects’ Huron Valley Chapter. Chubb is a Project Manager with Hobbs+Black Associates and has recently completed a two city block urban redevelopment project, City Creek Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Chubb joined the Huron Valley AIA upon completing his licensing exam and soon began his leadership involvement. As a member Chubb has served on the board as Treasurer and Vice President. In addition to the normal executive board duties, he mentors architecture students, has taught as adjunct instructor for design courses at University of Detroit Mercy and currently serves on the Planning Commission for the City of South Lyon.

Chubb accredits his passion for architecture from the fortunate opportunity to travel extensively as a child. This exposure to a great deal of inspiring places and people began his pursuit in knowledge about the built environment. Immersing himself in an architecturally diverse and rich environment inspired him to focus on architecture.

Chubb earned his Bachelors and Masters degree in architecture from the University of Detroit Mercy. The mandatory co-op program, an Italian study abroad program, its small class sizes and urban focus were significant influences in his career today.
