Local Accountants Promoted to Senior Managers

Lansing, MI — Maner Costerisan recently announced the promotions of Matthew C. Latham, CPA, Kristy L. Moore, CPA and Jeffrey L. Straus, CPA.

Latham joined Maner Costerisan in 2006. As a senior manager in the firm’s tax department, he specializes in working with closely held businesses in minimizing tax liability and maximizing business growth and value. In addition, Latham works closely with the firm’s affordable housing niche. He is the go-to professional for state and local taxes and the Affordable Care Act.

Latham received both his Master of Science in Accountancy and Bachelor of Arts in Accountancy from Michigan State University. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants (MACPA). Latham was named Water Polo Coach of the Year in 2012 by the Lansing State Journal. He is a current resident of East Lansing, Michigan.

Moore has been a part of the firm’s team since 2006. As a senior manager in the audit department, she specializes in affordable housing and employee benefit plan audits. Moore assists a wide array of clients, including those in the affordable housing, nonprofit and education industries.

Moore graduated from Central Michigan University where she received her Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Science in Accounting degrees. She is a member of the AICPA and the MACPA. Moore currently resides in Grand Ledge, Michigan with her husband, Tom, and their son.

Straus began his career at Maner Costerisan in 2006. He worked his way up from a staff I position to his current position of a senior manager. Straus’ current role is in the audit department where he performs attestation work, as well as providing traditional audit and agreed upon procedure services. He works primarily with nonprofit and governmental organizations. Straus also serves on the firm’s education services group, which works with several school districts throughout Michigan.

Straus received his Master of Science in Accounting and Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from Michigan State University. He is a member of the AICPA, the MACPA and the Michigan State University Association. In addition, Straus serves as the assistant treasurer of the Lansing Jaycees and is a member at Ingham County Pheasants Forever. He grew up in Beal City and currently resides in DeWitt, Michigan with his wife, Angie, and their two daughters.
