Food Network to Film “Food Court Wars” in Lansing

The Food Network, a unique lifestyle network, website and magazine that connects viewers to the power and joy of food, is pleased to announce that they will be filming one episode of the show “Food Court Wars” in Lansing. The Lansing Regional Chamber will support the taping of Food Court Wars by helping drive awareness and attendance at the March 19 and 20 events.

Food Court Wars, now in its second season and hosted by longtime professional chef and restaurant owner Tyler Florence, pits two teams of aspiring food entrepreneurs against one another as they battle to win their own food court restaurant, rent-free for a year. Stakes are high as teams must test their concept, market their brand and run their outlet for a full day feeding hungry shoppers. The team whose restaurant makes the most profit wins their eatery space — a prize worth $100,000!

“The Lansing Regional Chamber is pleased  to work with the Food Network to promote the taping of Food Court Wars to our membership and the community,” said Tim Daman, president and CEO of the Lansing Regional Chamber. “The grand prize of a food court restaurant location for one year at no-cost is most definitely a game changer for a local small business, restaurant entrepreneur looking to expand and grow in this region.”

Dates and times for Food Court Wars taping:

  • Wednesday, March 19  from 11:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the Lansing City Market

Folks are being asked to stop down to the City Market to try a sample of the contestant’s food and potentially be asked their opinion on camera. This portion is taped and will be aired during the show. This is the “marketing event” that each contestant must host to drum up interest for the main competition.

  • Thursday, March 20 starting at 5:00 p.m. at the Lansing Mall

The final competition will take place in the food court of the Lansing Mall, starting at 5:00 p.m. To register as a participant for the final competition on March 20, email the RSVP to FCWLANSING@GMAIL.COM.
