Lansing, MI – New World Flood, a local nonprofit organization, kicks off the 5th year of The Battlefield Brawl charity fundraiser, Sunday, April 27, 2014 at Marshall Park in Lansing, MI. Battlefield Brawl is a charity flag football tournament raising funds and awareness for kids battling life-threatening illnesses. New World Flood Co-Founder Todd J. Duckett, former Michigan State University Football All-American and 2002 1st round draft pick of the NFL’s Atlanta Falcons and Justin Caine, owner of Good Fruit Video and childhood survivor of brain cancer, founded the charity event in 2010. This year’s beneficiary are the kids of The Oldham Project, a nonprofit organization offering families with children suffering from various cancers, as well as other life threatening illnesses, the opportunity to live a fantasy through portraiture.

“We take the field for the kids!”, states Duckett. The 7 on 7 flag football charity tournament is entirely run by volunteers. It is a family friendly event with fun outdoor activities for children sponsored by The Institution Fitness Center. Kickoff is approximately 11:00 a.m. Come out to Marshall Park to meet our athletes, notables, cheer on your favorite local team or get some great food to support children battling life-threatening illnesses.
