Greater Lansing Welcomes Inaugural Moneyball 3-ON-3 Tournament

LANSING, Mich. –
The Greater Lansing Sports Authority, Moneyball Sportswear and Delta Charter Township are excited to partner to bring the Moneyball 3-ON-3 Tournament to the Greater Lansing community, August 22-24, 2014.  Set in the Lansing Mall parking lot the 3-day tournament will include male and female divisions from 3rd grade through 12th grade as well as an Open and 35-and-up divisions.

"We are excited about partnering with Delta Township & the Greater Lansing Sports Authority to bring the Moneyball 3 on 3 basketball tournament to the Lansing area,” said Desmond Ferguson, owner of Moneyball Sportswear in Lansing. “I grew up playing in 3 on 3 tournaments right here in Lansing and I feel the Lansing Mall parking lot is a great place to hold such an event. We look forward to providing a fun and eventful weekend for all the teams, families and communities involved."

The cost for participation is $160 per team, with teams to be comprised of no more than 4 individuals. The event, which will comprise ten courts and plenty of spectator seating in the Lansing Mall parking lot behind Younker’s, is the firstto be held in this location and Marcus Kirkpatrick, Parks, Recreation and Cemeteries Director with Delta Charter Township couldn’t be more excited.

“Delta Township takes pride in being a great place to live, work, and play. We are thrilled to be able to showcase what a great community we are by offering a wide variety of restaurants, an abundance of shopping opportunities, and beautiful parks and trails for people to enjoy during their time here,” said Kirkpatrick. “We are also excited to announce that partial proceeds from this tournament will benefit our new Parks & Recreation scholarship fund. This fund will allow children and families, who otherwise may not be able to afford our program experience, a chance to excel.”
