IDV Solutions Announces Visual Command Center for Supply Chain

Chris Kushmaul joins IDV to drive supply chain strategy

Lansing, MI — August 27, 2014

IDV Solutions today announced the release of Visual Command Center for Supply Chain, the latest addition to its line of enterprise risk visualization (ERV) software products. The supply chain release will focus on visualizing risk across the routes of the supply chain, including suppliers, manufacturer and retail locations, and route nodes, as material ships through complex global networks. By visualizing risk events related to supply chains before they become threats, organizations can act quickly to mitigate or eliminate the impact of those risks.

In global supply chains, materials travel on multiple modes of transport such as air, ocean, rail, and truck, often as a complicated combination of these services.  Risk events such as transportation delays, weather, terrorism, and natural disasters can cause costly delays and disruptions that adversely impact production, delivery commitments, and customer satisfaction. Visual Command Center for Supply Chain empowers organizations to protect their people, facilities, supply chains, and operations against these threats.

Visual Command Center for Supply Chain monitors real-time risk events on a global basis in the context of supply chain operations. When a risk is detected near a supply chain asset or shipping node, Visual Command Center for Supply Chain automatically generates an alert. Operators can then use powerful visualization, filtering, and query tools to rapidly assess the threat, and act to mitigate risk. Organizations using Visual Command Center for Supply Chain can be alerted to potential risks sooner, providing more time to assess and take action against them.

“Visual Command Center for Supply Chain builds on our experience working with the supply chain functions of several of our existing clients, but now applying that to our latest Visual Command Center platform,” said Ian Clemens, Chief Technology Officer, IDV Solutions. “With companies under constant pressure to streamline supply chain operations, improve cost and efficiencies, and drive customer fulfillment obligations, Visual Command Center for Supply Chain allows them to monitor risks to their supply chain on a global basis, make quicker decisions, and avoid costly modes of recovery.”

Chris Kushmaul recently joined IDV Solutions as director of supply chain solutions.  Chris will lead the development and implementation of IDV’s supply chain growth strategy. Chris has more than 14 years of supply chain experience in global logistics and transportation management.  Chris has held various management positions in the supply chain industry, most recently with a 3rd party logistics provider, as VP and general manager.  Prior to that Chris was the Director of Global Warehousing & Logistics for Diebold Inc., where he managed growth in their warehousing and transportation network globally. Chris also held positions at GE Capital and Delphi Automotive as a Black Belt and Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt in production control and logistics.  Chris served 11 years in the U.S. Army, first as an enlisted infantry soldier, then as an airborne infantry officer in the 82nd Airborne Division.

“We are extremely pleased to have Chris join IDV to focus on opportunities for growth in the supply chain area,” said Mark Morrison, CEO of IDV Solutions.  “Chris’s deep experience in the supply chain industry will help drive our strategy for the Visual Command Center product in this market.”
