Maner Costerisan Appoints Three New Principals

Lansing, MI — The certified public accounting and consulting firm of Maner Costerisan is proud to announce the promotions of Sarah Jennings, CPA, CFE, James Meyer, MBA, MCP and Keith Pfeifle, CPA, CMA, CITP.

“Sarah, James and Keith have developed into critical members of our firm, and we feel now is the right time for them to take the next step in their careers,” said Jeffrey Stevens, CPA, CITP, and President of Maner Costerisan. “We are fortunate to have such dedicated professionals who are well aligned with our practice areas, and we are excited to see the firm grow under their leadership.”

Jennings, serves in the firm’s business accounting services department, joined Maner Costerisan in 2003. She has a particular specialization performing internal control and fraud risk assessments, process improvement reviews, fraud examinations and other litigation support services for organization across various industries. Additionally, Jennings oversees Maner Costerisan’s outsourced controllership services and performs CFO responsibilities and provides advisory services for small businesses and nonprofit organizations. In addition to her client responsibilities, she leads the firm’s fraud and forensics practice and is a member of Maner Costerisan’s Nonprofit Committee.  Sarah regularly shares her expertise with clients, colleagues and peers by speaking on fraud prevention and organization governance.

Jennings graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University with a Bachelor’s degree. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants (MACPA) and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE). In addition, she is a Founding Board Member and Vice President of Women’s Interest Network. Jennings resides in Laingsburg, Michigan with her husband, Russ and their son, Kannon.

Meyer joined Maner Costerisan in 2006. He is the Director of the firm’s Business Solutions and Technology division where he is responsible for guiding our award winning Microsoft Dynamics GP, Intacct and IT Infrastructure teams and for ensuring that our clients get the best possible service and support. Meyer also leads the business development and marketing efforts of our Technology practice.

Meyer has over 30 years of experience, serves organizations across various industries, with particular focus on not-for-profits, distributors and healthcare providers. More specifically, he consults with clients to solve business issues through strategic IT investments in financial accounting (ERP) software and related technologies. Meyer is an evangelist for cloud computing and is a recognized expert and speaker on computer-based financial management systems and cloud technologies.   

Meyer received his Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Michigan and his Bachelor of Science degree from Alma College.   He is an active volunteer and currently serves as the Board Chair for the Child Care Network, a non-profit based in Washtenaw County. Meyer resides in Ann Arbor with his wife, Dawn. Together they have four sons.

Pfeifle has been part of the Maner Costerisan team since 2004. He works with a wide array of clients, including nonprofit and governmental organizations and law firms. Pfeifle maintains particular specialization with the real estate industry and is heavily involved with Maner Costerisan’s Affordable Housing Group. Additionally, he serves on the firm’s Education Services Group and works with several school districts throughout Michigan.

Pfeifle played an integral part in Governor Snyder signing of Senate Bill 473 into law. The Bill exempts flow through tax entities from withholding requirements for companies involved in certain government housing assistance programs. Drafting of the legislation began in February 2013. Pfeifle testified in front of the Senate Committee on Finance on September 25, 2013 and in front of the House Committee on Tax Policy on May 14, 2014. The Governor signed the Bill into law on September 30, 2014.

Pfeifle received his Master of Arts in Accounting and Bachelor of Science in Finance degrees from Michigan State University. He is a member of the AICPA, the MICPA, the Affordable Housing Association of Certified Public Accountants (AHACPA) and the Michigan State University Student Alumni Foundation. Pfeifle currently resides in Williamston with his wife and two children.
