State of Michigan Awards Grant to Tri-County Prosperity Region for 2015

The Michigan Dept. of Technology, Management, and Budget has awarded grant dollars to Prosperity Region 7-composed of Ingham, Eaton, and Clinton Counties-for the second year of Gov. Snyder's Regional Prosperity Initiative.

Lansing, February 23, 2015: The six organizations of the Greater Lansing Regional Prosperity Initiative (GLRPI)-Capital Area Michigan Works!, Lansing Economic Area Partnership (LEAP, Inc.), Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce, Lansing Community College, Michigan State University and the Tri-County Regional Planning Commission (TCRPC)-were elated to receive a $228,750 Regional Collaboration Grant from the State of Michigan. With this grant, they will complete the work started in 2014 to promote regional growth and prosperity with grant-funded planning and development projects.

The renewed grant will enable community leaders to continue to grow their partnership. "The Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce was pleased to partner last year with several other organizations with the purpose of exploring innovative strategies for driving regional prosperity," said Tim Daman, President & CEO of the Lansing Regional Chamber. "Receiving the Regional Prosperity Grant again will allow us to continue developing a regional vision and long-term agenda for growing the Greater Lansing region."

After a very successful 2014, the group will expand on current projects, including an expanded reach of the October 2014 CATALYST: Capital Region Prosperity Project to Clinton, Ingham, and Eaton Counties; further development of a 5-Year Prosperity Plan; expansion of the dashboard deliverables; and finally, the continuation of monthly meetings engaging economic professionals and governmental entities in economic prosperity discussions.
