WILX Media Launches New Studio and New Broadcast Team

WILX Media announced today that beginning at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, April 13, 2015 News 10 will begin broadcasting from a new state-of-the-art studio facility at their South Lansing location.

After months of preparations News 10 will unveil a new studio and graphics environment that raises the bar on how the news organization delivers the news each day to Mid-Michigan viewers. The contemporary new look is just the beginning as the environment and presentation of content will be enhanced by state of the art technology.  A touch screen monitor will allow reporters and anchors the opportunity to breakdown complex stories and showcase important events in a simple and enjoyable way.

“The new redesigned studio and interactive environment will engage the viewer and take an ordinary story and turn it into an extraordinary experience,” said Michael King, WILX’s Vice President and General Manager.  “We’re very proud of the entire News 10 team that worked tirelessly over the past three months to bring this one-of-a-kind studio to life,” King added.

WILX also announced a new face will be joining the News 10 team.  Ken Houston will join Lauren Evans on the anchor desk for News 10’s 5, 6 and 11 p.m. weekday newscasts.

“Ken is an accomplished journalist who brings outstanding story-telling skill and leadership to the News 10 team.  We think the combination of Ken Houston and Lauren Evans will make for an outstanding duo on Mid-Michigan’s leading newscasts,” said King.

Ken’s journalist career stretches from Kansas City to across the Atlantic. His wall to wall coverage of the 911 attacks shaped his reporting approach and life forever.  In his off time, Ken is a theater and movie enthusiast, and shares a deep love for community and giving back.  This is just the beginning of a whole new era for News 10.
