Casual Commute Day Media Kickoff Event

2nd annual Casual Commute Day challenges commuters to Come Clean for a day

The competition is heating up as Greater Lansing vies to retain the state’s “Cleanest-commuting Region” title over Grand Rapids and Southeast Michigan rideshare programs.

Please join CATA Clean Commute Options, in conjunction with BIGGBY Coffee and the Lansing State Journal, Monday, April 27, as we kick off the second annual Casual Commute Day challenge. BIGGBY Coffee CEO Bob Fish, East Lansing Mayor Nathan Triplett, Sen. Curtis Hertel, Rep. Tom Cochran, Rep. Sam Singh, and CATA CEO/Executive Director Sandy Draggoo will share how they plan to Come Clean for Casual Commute Day.

Casual Commute Day encourages the use of commute alternatives and raises awareness of air-quality issues caused by auto emissions. Between now and Friday, May 1, we’ll collect as many pledges as possible from residents who agree to “Come Clean” May 1 for their commute to work, school and other destinations.

For up-to-the-minute details or to pledge to clean commute visit Clean-commuting is free and each registrant automatically receives a buy-one-get-one-free or dollar-off coupon from BIGGBY.
