Public Policy Associates, Inc. Promotes Researchers

Robb Burroughs has been named director of Public Policy Associates, Inc.’s
Safety and Justice Team, and Jasmina Camo-Biogradlija has been promoted to
senior research associate, company President Dr. Paul Elam announced.

Mr. Burroughs, who had served as interim director, leads PPA’s work in areas
including criminal justice, juvenile justice, child welfare, and racial equity. He
joined PPA in 2013 after working as associate director of the Michigan Council
on Crime and Delinquency, where he helped implement the Michigan Prisoner
ReEntry Initiative.

“Robb is smart, thoughtful, and one of Michigan’s leading experts on safety and
justice, especially as it relates to the criminal justice system,” Dr. Elam said.
“He will play the lead role in building our safety and justice portfolio and
helping clients use evidence-based strategies to improve public safety and
ensure that people are treated fairly and equitably.

Mr. Burroughs said he was pleased to direct PPA’s work in these areas at a time
when state and national policymakers are taking renewed interest in criminal
justice and juvenile justice reform.

“The growing emphasis on the use of high-quality research to create safer, more
equitable communities provides many exciting opportunities for PPA to engage
clients in advancing both the research and the practical application of research
findings in the field,” he said.

Dr. Camo-Biogradlija, who was previously a research associate II, is a
researcher and evaluator on the Safety and Justice Team, with a strong emphasis
on community engagement. She recently received her Ed.D. from Eastern
Michigan University in educational leadership.

“Jasmina combines research skills with high energy and a passion for diversity
and inclusion to ensure that all voices are heard and valued when examining
programs and policies,” Dr. Elam said.
