YMCA Hosts its 2nd Annual Holiday Prayer Breakfast and Charitable Drive

Lansing, MI – The YMCA of Metropolitan Lansing will kick off the holiday season by hosting its second annual Holiday Prayer Breakfast and charitable drive benefiting the Lansing Refugee Development Center on Nov. 20.

This event is organized and hosted by the YMCA’s Christian Emphasis Committee, a group of community volunteers who work to preserve the YMCA’s spiritual heritage in all YMCA of Metropolitan Lansing branches, and throughout the community.
This year, the keynote speaker will be Pastor Noah Filipiak, founding and senior pastor of Crossroads Church in downtown Lansing, who will deliver an inspirational and seasonal message. Filipiak is also a long-term member of the YMCA of Metropolitan Lansing.

Guests of the breakfast are encouraged to bring winter wear, coats, bus tokens/passes, cleaning supplies and other priority items with them, which will be donated to the Refugee Development Center. The morning charitable drive is a continuance of a two month-long drive helping to collect essential items for Refugees in our community from five of the YMCA of Lansing’s branch locations: Westside, Parkwood, Oak Park, DeWitt and the Downtown Wellness Center.

The Holiday Prayer Breakfast is open to the public and will run from 8-9:30 a.m. at the Lansing Country Club in Lansing. The cost is $15 per person, or $120 for a table of eight.

To make reservations, contact Patty Dickson, Finance Clerk, at (517) 827-9632, or by November 16.
