Transformation of corridor and growth of region remain top priorities

The following statement can be attributed to Tim Daman, president and chief executive officer of the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce (LRCC):

“The Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce is pleased to see that the City of Lansing listened to business leaders and residents by taking much needed action to begin road repair along Michigan Avenue. Our members have repeatedly expressed concerns regarding the lack of proper investment in the city’s infrastructure.

The Greater Lansing business community is making significant investments in our region by building businesses, creating jobs and driving economic growth. Investment in the infrastructure on Michigan Avenue has not kept pace with the rest of the development along the corridor. With more than $300 million in current, completed and planned development along Michigan Avenue, we believe further investment in infrastructure is desperately needed to support economic development. As the Chamber continues to lead efforts to promote regional prosperity and economic growth, we will continue to monitor the progress and transformation of Michigan Avenue.”
