April Clobes of MSU Federal Credit Union to Serve as Chair-Elect of the 2017 LRCC Board of Directors

April Clobes, Chief Executive Officer of MSU Federal Credit Union (MSUFCU) will serve as chair-elect of the 2017 Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce (LRCC) Board of Directors. As chair-elect, Clobes will be in line to become LRCC board chair in 2018.

Clobes joined MSUFCU in 1996. After moving through the organization from a marketing specialist to management and executive positions, she became President and CEO in 2015. MSUFCU has an asset size of over $3.34 billion, more than 229,501 members worldwide and 740 employees.

MSUFCU is the largest university-based credit union in the world and has a national reputation for excellence, being named the 2014 Federal Credit Union of the Year by the National Association of Federal Credit Unions (NAFCU). MSUFCU was named the number one employer in the large employer category on the 2016 Top Workplaces list by the Detroit Free Press. MSUFCU was honored at the 2016 Detroit Free Press Top Workplaces ceremony on November 15, 2016. Clobes served as the keynote speaker at this year’s ceremony and was honored with the Top Workplaces Leadership Award.

MSUFCU was also recognized by the Principal Financial Group® as one of The Principal® 10 Best Companies for Employee Financial Security. The Credit Union was also honored in 2015 and 2016 by the Credit Union Journal as one of the Best Credit Unions to Work For, by the American Heart Association as a Heart Association Fit Friendly Worksite, and by the Great Places to Work, partnered with Fortune.com, as one of the 100 Best Places to Work For Millennials. In 2013, Clobes was named a Top Woman to Watch by the Credit Union Times. This honor is awarded to women who are reshaping the credit union industry throughout the country.

Clobes is extremely active in the Michigan State University and Greater Lansing area communities. In addition to her role on the Lansing Regional Chamber Board, she is currently a member of both the Executive Committee and Board of Directors for the Lansing Economic Area Partnership. Additionally, she serves on the Board of Directors for the Lansing Symphony Orchestra, MSU College of Music National Leadership Council, Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum International Advisory Board, Wharton Center Advisory Council Board, MSU College of Business Alumni Board, Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs and Physicians Health Plan Board.
