Many people don't like to make New Year’s resolutions or fail to keep them. But it is certainly beneficial for businesses to make plans – and what’s a plan if not a resolution? In 2017, we encourage all members to engage with our organization through the valuable networking, brand building and public policy efforts we champion.

Chamber membership is a valuable part of your business toolkit. Not sure where to start? Here are some ideas.

  1. Network: Building and expanding your professional network is one of the strongest ways to grow revenue. New opportunities start with new contacts. And creating them is easy, with more than 50 events held annually by the LRCC. Get out your calendar and commit to attending a certain event, connecting with a certain number of people, or set other networking goals.
  2. Grow, grow and grow: As the saying goes, you learn something new each day, no matter your age or position. Utilize the Chamber to acquire new skills and talent this year and stretch your own capabilities. Find a mentor. Attend a Business Education Series program geared towards something you’ve always wanted to try or learn more about. Or enroll in Leadership Lansing. As Kristin Beltzer always says, “Let’s be lifelong learners!”
  3. Make your voice heard: The LRCC is the voice of business for the Greater Lansing region by leading advocacy efforts to support the overall business climate in our community. And that mission is simple: Keep you connected and advocate on your behalf. Remember, no business stands alone in the Greater Lansing region when you’re a member of the Chamber.
  4. Strengthen your brand: The Chamber can help you cut through the marketing noise and reach the customers and clients that will help your business grow. Send company and employee news to be featured in FOCUS magazine or on our robust social media channels. Let us help promote your upcoming events. Consider an enhanced listing for our upcoming launch of the Lansing Marketplace – an online guide of Greater Lansing’s businesses and organizations. The possibilities are endless!

2106 was a banner year for this Chamber and our great community. We look forward to extending that momentum into 2017 and beyond. We hope you will be a part of this journey by taking advantage of the networking and business services LRCC offers. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to Christine Zarkovich or myself should you need any assistance. Best wishes for an amazing 2017!
