The Peckham Community Partnership Foundation will host its bi-annual Speaker Series featuring former NFL player Ryan Leaf, a Mental & Behavioral Health Advocate.

On Tuesday, October 24, there will be a morning session from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and an afternoon session from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Sessions are free and open to the public and will take place at Peckham Inc., 3510 Capital City Blvd., Lansing, MI 48906.

Contact Shavonne Singleton at for pre-event interviews.

Ryan Leaf is a graduate of Washington State University where he was also a standout quarterback leading the Cougars to the 1998 Rose Bowl. Leaf was one of the most promising collegiate football players of his time, rivaling Peyton Manning for the Heisman trophy. After being chosen as the number two pick in the NFL draft behind Manning, Leaf struggled with injuries, his conduct off the field and the pressure of performing at an elite level, ultimately leading to the demise of his professional football career.
