Spartan Service – additional bus service that operates only during MSU fall and spring semesters – will not operate March 5-11, 2018. CATA will reduce or eliminate service levels on several routes during the one-week period that Michigan State University and Lansing Community College are on spring break.

The following modifications in service will be implemented the week of March 5. During this period, refer to cata.org, and click on Routes & Schedules for timetables specific to each route below.

Entertainment Express: Service will operate at a reduced frequency Thursday-Saturday (March 8-10), with one trolley traveling the Michigan Avenue/Grand River Avenue corridor every 30 minutes from 7:30 p.m. to 3 a.m.

Route 1 – Downtown Lansing/Meridian Mall: Friday and Saturday late-night Spartan Service will not operate. On March 9-10, the last departure from the CATA Transportation Center will be at 10:20 p.m. The final bus will leave Meridian Mall at 11 p.m., ending service at 11:35 p.m. Saturday buses will depart every 10-15 minutes between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. Sunday buses will depart every 20 minutes all day rather than every 16 minutes.

Route 20 – South Harrison/Jolly/Dunckel: Monday through Thursday service will operate at a reduced frequency of every 35 minutes most of the day. Friday, Saturday and Sunday service frequencies operate as usual. Buses do not travel into the Gateway but will continue to serve the facility at bus stops on Harrison Road. Route 20 will travel into Spartan Village on all inbound and outbound trips during spring break.

Route 23 – MSU/Okemos/Haslett: Monday through Friday, between 2 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., buses will run less often – every 35-45 minutes rather than every 25 minutes.

Routes 20, 22 and 23: During the break, these three routes will travel into the MSU-CATA Transportation Center across from Shaw Hall, while continuing to serve the Shaw and Farm boarding area at the corner of Shaw and Farm lanes. Routes 24 and 25 will continue to travel to Ramp 5 on Red Cedar.

Route 24 – East Lansing/E. Lake Lansing Road: Monday-Friday service will operate every 30 minutes rather than every 35 minutes until 6:15 p.m. The remainder of the evening, buses will continue to operate on a 60-minute frequency. Saturday and Sunday service will operate as usual.

Route 25 – North Harrison: Weekday buses will operate every 60 minutes during the day and early evening rather than every 30 minutes. Saturday and Sunday service will operate as usual.

Route 26 – Abbot/Chandler: Monday - Friday, buses will operate every 45 minutes (rather than every 6 to 10 minutes) and conclude at 7:15 p.m. at the MSU-CTC/Ramp 1. There will be no Thursday, Friday or Saturday late-night service to downtown East Lansing. Saturday service will end early at 7:10 p.m. at the MSU-CTC/Ramp 1. Sunday service will operate as usual.

All MSU Campus Service (Routes 30 - 36, 39, Lot Link and Night Owl): Regular campus service will conclude for the week at 2:30 a.m. Monday morning, March 5, when Routes 34, 35, 36 and Lot Link end service. The 10 campus routes/services that serve MSU do not operate during the week of spring break.
