The Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce History

Our Legacy: 125 Years Strong

From securing major manufacturing investments and building our first hard-surface road, to shaping the future of transportation, infrastructure, and innovation, this organization—later known as the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce—has never stopped moving our region forward. We’ve met the demands of wartime, championed economic diversification, and empowered women in leadership through the globally recognized ATHENA Award. We stood united to Keep GM, ensuring new jobs and facilities at a critical time for our community. And we’ve consistently recognized excellence through the Regional Growth Awards, honoring those who drive us forward. Through every challenge and every triumph, one thing has remained constant: our commitment to Lansing’s people, businesses, and future. Today, the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce stands on the shoulders of generations who dared to believe in a better tomorrow. We are proud of where we’ve been—and even more excited about where we’re going. Together, we continue to connect, collaborate, and create opportunity. Nearly 900 business and community leaders gathered on February 25, 2026, at the Lansing Center for the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce’s (LRCC) 125th Anniversary Gala, a milestone event celebrating LRCC’s enduring influence in the Greater Lansing region. The Lansing Center was transformed into an unforgettable celebration space, complete with a 360° photo booth, classic car displays from the R.E. Olds Transportation Museum, and live music from 496 West, while the Lansing Symphony Orchestra captivated guests during dinner.

The 125th Anniversary Gala was more than a single night of celebration. It brought together leaders from across sectors, celebrated LRCC’s legacy, and reaffirmed the organization’s ongoing role in connecting, strengthening, and advocating for the Greater Lansing business community.
