The Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce Political Action Committee (LRC-PAC) has endorsed Lansing City Council member Brian Daniels in the race for the 1st Ward council seat on the Aug. 2 primary and Nov. 6 general election ballots. In February, Daniels, a small business owner on Lansing’s east side and U.S. Army veteran, was appointed to the council to fill an existing vacancy.

“We have been very impressed by Brian Daniels because of his fierce integrity and abilities as a problem solver committed to real solutions and results,” said Kevin Shaw, chair, LRC-PAC. We firmly believe in Brian’s commitment to work side-by-side with residents and small businesses in the 1stward.”

Brian Daniels is the founder of Empower Lansing, a local boxing gym. His experience in the military gave him a powerful sense of duty and the urge to continue to serve. He has advocated for changes in the economy, for jobs in the future, for changes in technology, and is a strong supporter of infrastructure upgrades. Brian is a passionate supporter of cleaning up parks, protecting natural resources, building development, urban farming, and community cohesion.

“Councilman Daniels gets it, and he will continue to deliver a meaningful, measurable track record of success for Lansing’s 1st Ward,” said Steve Japinga, senior vice president, public affairs, Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce. “Brian is focused on ensuring a cleaner, safer, and healthier Lansing, and he shares our vision for the future of our region.”

The LRC-PAC is the political action committee of the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce, representing over 1,000 businesses in the Greater Lansing region. The objective of LRC-PAC is to endorse candidates that support a favorable business climate throughout the region.
