LANSING REGIONAL CHAMBER-PAC ENDORSES JOHN JAMES FOR GOVERNOR
LANSING, MI – The Lansing Regional Chamber Political Action Committee (LRC-PAC) today announced its endorsement of John James for Governor of Michigan in the November 2026 general election.
The endorsement reflects LRC-PAC’s focus on Michigan’s economic competitiveness, job and population growth, educational outcomes, government accountability, affordability, and the state’s ability to attract and retain businesses, workers and investment.
“Michigan is at an important crossroads, and the decisions made by the next governor and administration will have significant implications for our state’s economic future,” said Tim Daman, President & CEO of the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce. “The LRC-PAC believes Michigan needs a renewed focus on competitiveness, accountability and measurable results. We believe John James has presented an approach to state government and economic policy that aligns with many of those priorities.”
James has outlined an agenda focused on economic growth, tax and regulatory policy, government spending and accountability, education, infrastructure, energy affordability and strengthening Michigan’s overall business climate.
The LRC-PAC also considered James’s experience as a business leader, military veteran and member of Congress, as well as his engagement with Michigan’s business community
“Michigan is competing every day with other states for businesses, talent and investment, and we need to make sure our state is positioned to compete,” Daman said. “That means improving educational outcomes, strengthening our infrastructure, addressing affordability, ensuring taxpayer dollars are producing measurable results and creating an environment where businesses and people want to invest and grow.”
The LRC-PAC emphasized that an endorsement does not mean the organization expects
complete agreement with a candidate on every issue.
A Bipartisan, Race-by-Race Approach
The endorsement of James builds on LRC-PAC’s previously announced support for candidates from both political parties across federal, statewide and state legislative races. LRC-PAC’s 2026 endorsed candidates include:
- John James — Governor of Michigan
- Mike Rogers — United States Senate
- Congressman Tom Barrett — Michigan’s 7th Congressional District
- Doug Lloyd — Michigan Attorney General
- State Senator Sarah Anthony — Michigan’s 21st Senate District
- State Representative Angela Witwer — Michigan House of Representatives, 76th
District - Harold Pope — Michigan House of Representatives, 74th District
Together, these endorsements reflect LRC-PAC’s race-by-race approach to the 2026 election cycle and its focus on economic growth and competitiveness, governing effectiveness, relationships with the Lansing region, accessibility and willingness to engage constructively with the business community.
“We evaluate each race individually and look at the candidate’s record, approach to economic growth, relationship with our region and willingness to engage with the business community. We won’t agree with every candidate we endorse on every issue, but our focus remains consistent: strengthening the Lansing region and positioning Michigan for long-term economic growth.”
