LANSING, MI — November 5, 2025 — The Lansing Regional Chamber-Political Action Committee (LRC PAC) announced that six of its seven endorsed candidates were elected in the 2025 Lansing and East Lansing general elections, marking one of the organization’s strongest success rates in recent election cycles.

In Lansing, voters reaffirmed their confidence in pro-growth leadership by re-electing Mayor Andy Schor and electing Jeremy Garza (At-Large), Clara Martinez (At-Large), Deyanira Nevarez Martinez (2nd Ward), and Peter Spadafore (4th Ward) to the Lansing City Council.

“These results demonstrate that voters want steady, collaborative leadership focused on growth, accountability, and results,” said Steve Japinga, Senior Vice President of Public Affairs at the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce. “Mayor Schor and the new Council members are well-positioned to advance the priorities that will move Lansing forward—expanding housing, improving infrastructure, streamlining regulations, and strengthening neighborhood safety. We look forward to working with them to keep Lansing growing and competitive.”

In East Lansing, voters elected Steve Whelan and Chuck Grigsby to the City Council.

“Steve and Chuck bring a balanced, solutions-oriented approach to leadership,” Japinga added. “Both are deeply engaged in the East Lansing community and share a commitment to housing affordability, business vitality, and ensuring the city remains a vibrant place for residents and employers alike.”

These elections mark a pivotal moment for the Greater Lansing region. The leaders chosen by voters will help shape the next phase of the area’s growth—focusing on collaboration, economic development, and creating a more connected, competitive, and prosperous region for all.

As the new Councils take office, the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce will continue to advocate for policies that foster investment, attract and retain talent, and enhance quality of life across the region.
