2026 Lansing Facade Improvement Grant Program Now Open
The 2026 Lansing Facade Improvement Grant Program is now open and accepting applications from eligible businesses located within the City of Lansing. The program is offered through the City of Lansing in partnership with the Lansing Economic Development Corporation and is designed to support reinvestment in commercial corridors and neighborhood business districts.
The Facade Improvement Program provides competitive, reimbursement-based grants to property owners and eligible tenants seeking to make permanent exterior improvements to commercial, office, and mixed-use buildings. Eligible projects focus on enhancing building appearance, functionality, and long-term structural integrity—helping strengthen Lansing’s business environment and community character.

Available Grant Opportunities
- Transformational Grant
- Up to $30,000
- For facade projects totaling $10,000 or more
- Provides a 50% reimbursement match for major restoration, rehabilitation, or replacement projects
- Aesthetic & Maintenance Grant
- Up to $5,000
- For smaller-scale projects under $10,000
- Provides a 50% match for improvements such as paint, signage, windows, doors, lighting, and entryways
- Design Program Award
- Up to $2,000
- Supports professional design services, including facade concepts, renderings, and material specifications, to prepare for future improvements
All grants are awarded on a reimbursement basis, and no work may begin prior to formal approval and execution of the required grant and design agreements.
