LANSING, MI — The Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce (LRCC) applauds Deep Green for reaffirming and strengthening its commitments to the City of Lansing and for continuing its transparent and collaborative approach as the project moves forward.

Lansing has a real opportunity to become a national model for how communities thoughtfully and responsibly attract next generation infrastructure investment. The Deep Green Data Center represents a significant opportunity not only for the City of Lansing, but for the entire region. This project positions Lansing to attract emerging industry clusters, drive long term economic growth, generate substantial private sector investment, expand the city’s tax base, modernize critical infrastructure, and strengthen our region’s competitive standing in technology, innovation, and cloud-based computing.

Our business members and local skilled worker communities are unified in support of this project and excited to welcome Deep Green to Lansing. The company has been transparent, responsive, and diligent in engaging with residents, city leaders, and stakeholders, and today’s announcement further strengthens the promises being made to the community. By formally securing commitments related to water use, electric rates, infrastructure investment, labor participation, and neighborhood compatibility, Deep Green continues to demonstrate that it intends to be a responsible, long-term partner in Lansing’s future.

In today’s intensely competitive environment for advanced technology and site location investment, it is rare for a project of this magnitude to move forward without local economic incentives. This proposal is a true outlier, a net win for Lansing, the region, and the state, delivering meaningful economic impact without requiring local incentive support.

Anything short of final approval would represent a missed opportunity for growth and progress, and a setback for city residents who deserve a strong tax base and dependable city services that make Lansing a desirable place to live, work, and invest. We strongly encourage city leaders to act decisively and ensure Lansing does not fall behind other regions that are aggressively competing for the jobs, investment, and innovation of the future.

The Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce remains firmly supportive of this project and looks forward to continuing to work with city leaders, community stakeholders, and Deep Green to help Lansing lead, not follow, in the next generation of economic opportunity.
