LANSING, MI – The Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce (LRCC) has announced the recipients of the 2026 Celebration of Regional Growth Awards, the 20th annual program honoring the businesses, people and investments moving the Lansing region forward. The awards will be presented Thursday, Nov. 12, 2026, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center. For the first time in the program’s history, the Lansing Economic Club program will be held as an evening event.

The Celebration of Regional Growth Awards recognize organizations whose investments strengthen the region’s economy, workforce and quality of life. Since the program began, the 100 businesses recognized have invested nearly $7.5 billion in the Lansing region.

This year’s recipients are:

  • LG Energy Solution Michigan: For its new Delta Township facility, bringing advanced battery manufacturing and hundreds of jobs to the region. The plant, a $2 billion-plus investment in the Lansing region, began production this summer, building batteries for energy storage systems and Toyota electric vehicles, and is expected to employ about 1,700 people at full capacity.
  • The Gillespie Company and Michigan State University: For the MSU Child Development Lab, expanding early childhood education on Lansing’s Eastside and giving more working families access to quality childcare. The nearly $5 million center at 2215 E. Michigan Ave. opens in phases beginning late this fall and will grow to serve more than 100 children from infants to preschoolers. It will also train MSU students to help address Michigan’s shortage of early childhood teachers.
  • The City of Lansing: For the new City Hall and the Lansing Public Safety and District Court Complex, modernizing city services and public safety for residents and businesses. The new City Hall at 425 S. Grand Ave., funded by $40 million in state support, replaces an aging 1950s building and brings taxes, permits, voter registration and other city business into one customer service center. The $175 million public safety complex on South Washington Avenue, approved by Lansing voters in 2022, brings police and fire headquarters and 54A District Court together on one campus.
  • University of Michigan Health-Sparrow: For three facilities expanding access to health care close to home, a combined investment of about $175 million. The $32 million University of Michigan Health Sparrow Grand Ledge Health Center opens to patients in early 2027 with urgent care, primary and specialty care, advanced imaging and a pharmacy. The $60 million University of Michigan Health Sparrow Lansing Surgery Center downtown adds new operating rooms and an MRI in late 2027. The $83 million Janice M. Granger Behavioral Health Building, expected to open in 2028, will add more than 60 psychiatric beds, including the region’s first inpatient beds for children and teens, who today are often sent more than an hour away for care.

“For 20 years, the Celebration of Regional Growth has recognized the investments reshaping this region,” says Tim Daman, President and CEO of the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce. “This year’s recipients are investing in what determines whether people choose to live, work and grow a business here: good jobs, quality childcare, access to health care and modern public services. Investments like these are what keep talent and employers in the Lansing region.”
