Making an impact and serving clients comes naturally to Michigan Creative and Grassroots Midwest. When the two firms started working together, a strong business case was made for a strategic partnership. Each serves a unique blend of clientele and interests, from issue advocacy and political campaigns to award-winning audio and video production, and they recently announced a formal partnership to better serve their clients and enhance the services they offer.

Founded in 2011 by Brian Town, Michigan Creative is a creative agency that provides web design, branding, video and marketing and is located in the heart of REO Town. Michigan Creative works with businesses, large and small, to transform their marketing efforts into marketing machines that work efficiently and continuously to attract new business and promote their companies.

“Not only are we passionate about the businesses we work with, but we are also passionate about the people that work for us,” said Brian Town, owner and CEO of Michigan Creative. “This is what makes Michigan Creative the best in all of our services. Combined with Grassroots Midwest, we can now provide our clients with a full menu of communications and marketing services while creating and building a better Lansing and a better Michigan.”

Formed in 2013, Grassroots Midwest is a full-service bipartisan communications and advocacy firm specializing in campaign consulting, issue management, communications, social media, event planning and advocacy. Grassroots Midwest prides themselves on their relentless focus on developing and deploying creative, tested messages that move their clients’ interests forward.

“Every great piece of communication should be beautiful and functional,” said Adrian Hemond, partner and CEO of Grassroots Midwest. “From graphic design to video and audio production, Michigan Creative produces amazing work. Combined with the talents of our business and people, we will continue to produce results for each and every client.”

Since 2015, the two firms have teamed up on a wide range of projects locally and across the state to help clients reach their goals, including jointly winning a PACE Award for Innovative Tactics in 2017. The partnership between Michigan Creative and Grassroots Midwest will help grow both firms while providing clients with strategic, innovative work that delivers winning results. In addition to continuing to work together closely on projects, they’ll be sharing several clients, and are currently constructing a sound booth and video stage at the Grassroots Midwest offices on Lansing’s north side.

Michigan Creative and Grassroots Midwest are bullish about their partnership and share a bold vision for the future.

“We went from being a startup with no revenues to a successful company with clients ranging from state and federal candidates to labor unions, corporations and nonprofits,” said Hemond. “We want to continue on that same trajectory by growing the number of clients we serve while increasing the effectiveness of our work. Five years from now, we’d like to double the size of our firm and continue to expand our footprint throughout the Midwest."

Michigan Creative started with one employee, Town, in the Technology Innovation Center, and now has a staff of 12 with offices in Lansing and Detroit. “We feel that we are just at the start of something really amazing. Grassroots Midwest will help us expand our reach and services and add the strategic communications piece and expertise in the political field that we were missing.”
